Chiesa Matrice
Descrizione 
È la chiesa dedicata all’Assunta, Santa Protettrice del paese. Nel 1956 venne ricostruita da maestranze neretina che utilizzarono la pietra leccese proveniente dalle cave locali. Presenta un elegante prospetto barocco, nella cui parte superiore vediamo raffigurate ghirlande, serpi, angeli, festoni, sirene e mascheroni. L’interno, a croce latina con tre navate, conserva i sei altari settecenteschi e notevoli tele come quella del pittore leccese Oronzo Tiso, risalente alla metà del ‘700 e quella raffigurante l’Immacolata, che viene attribuita al pittore Cesare Fracanzano. Di pregio sono l’organo, posto sulla porta d’ingresso e il soffitto decorato.

It is the church dedicated to the Assumption, Holy Protector of the country. In 1956 it was rebuilt by neretina workers who used leccese stone from local quarries. It has an elegant Baroque façade, in the upper part of which we see depicted garlands, serpents, angels, festoons, mermaids and masks. The interior, with a Latin cross with three naves, preserves the six eighteenth-century altars and remarkable canvases such as that of the Lecce painter Oronzo Tiso, dating back to the mid-1700s and the one depicting the Immaculate, which is attributed to the painter Cesare Fracanzano. Of value are the organ, placed on the front door and the decorated ceiling.
